Help with using dynamic user content in author box
3 replies · Started by John on November 21, 2021
Hello, I'm following the Youtube tutorial about creating an author box with GenerateBlocks, Elements, and dynamic data. One of the contact buttons I would like to display is an email icon linking to the author's email address. I've created the button, and tied it to a dynamic link of user meta, email. However, when it populates the link, it simply links directly to the root domain. It does not create a mailto:email@rootdomain.com. How can I achieve this?
Hi there,
Any chance you can link us to the site in question?
You can use the private information field:

Let me know :)
Hi Leo, I've added a link to an article in the private information field. The author box is at the bottom.
There is an email button that is has a dynamic link type author meta, and I entered email as the meta field name. I have the author's email address entered into the standard email field on the user profile. However, as you can see the email button just links back to the root domain instead of creating a mailto link.
I've also tried creating my own email field on the user profile, and entering mailto:email@domain, but no luck. Thanks!
