I am using the default theme and trying to replicate the theme shown in the Screenshot. I have the Pro version installed and have added the add-in for the blog. I am confused about what size to make the images in my first few posts. I am not understanding the differences between the different settings for the Blog. I have created a couple of categories and some posts to test sizes and placement. Need a little hand holding due to my confusion.

i am wanting to start blogging but getting confused.

    Hi there,

Sorry are you referring to this screenshot?
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/replicating-the-screenshot/

All of the options for the blog/archives are here:

GP Premium 1.10.0 (currently in beta) also improves the featured image sizing options a lot so I would recommend trying it out:

Yes – I am trying to use the default theme but I am stuck at what size to make the first few images. I am just looking for a good size number to start with. I am trying to understand the differences between the SINGLE page, the ARCHIVE page and POST itself. Hoping that you understand my confusion about the size to put in the settings. I know that I can modify the settings but just looking for a suggested size to start with.

Could you please tell me what a suggested size would be for a featured image and for a default pic to use in content of a blog post? I know it depends on the theme too. Other themes I have used in the past have given me a suggested size. I am lost with just using this Generate Press default theme.

If you look at the link in my site under BLOG I have attempted to create some test sizes but they are too big. I understand where I could make the setting changes but just need a suggested size to start with. What is a good size to use for a

I am recovering from a brain injury so I know that I get confused and what I used to do before my accident is not what I can do now. Your patience and understanding is appreciated. I am attempting to un-park my site and see if I can return to doing web development. Getting confused with Generate Press.

There isn’t a suggested size as it’s all personal preference.

If you feel like that first image (that says Coming Soon) is too big then just make it smaller with the resizer:

Archives tab apply to the posts page and archives (where the post listings are displayed)

Posts refer to the actual post itself.

    Pages refer to static pages.
