Roger
I’m still trying to understand how I can control which featured image appears in the hero image of various pages.
This is our blog page index and is showing the veggie hero image that we would like it show all the time (we don’t want the hero to change with each new blog post)
https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=27That vegetable image, however, is also currently appearing on our about page:
https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=5268And another page here:
https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=5131Both of those pages have their own featured images which aren’t appearing so it appears that I did something to indicate that I want the veggie hero image to appear everywhere when in fact I don’t. I just want it to appear on the blog index page.
I appreciate your guidance!

StaffCustomer SupportHi Roger,
1. The blog page is an index page, even you’ve assigned a static page as the posts/blog page, it’s still an index page, so the featured image you set for the static page will not work.
2. The other two pages are static pages, so the featured image should work.
3. The question for you: have you enabled the dynamic option for the background image?

Hi Ying. Yes, I have enabled the dynamic option for the background image. Should that be disabled?

StaffCustomer SupportNo, the dynamic option should be kept.
Can you provide an admin login to your site so I can have a look at the backend?
Please use the private info field for sensitive info like this.
Let me know 🙂

Thanks for proposing this! I’ve included the log in info below.
To reiterate, the blog index page is the only page currently showing the correct hero image:
https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=27The others (“about” and “why food gardens”) are not showing the ones I’d like, ie the featured images associated with those pages.

Hi Roger,
Tried viewing your site and it seems you haven’t set the dynamic background settings for the Container Block. See: https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluWg60L

Hello Fernando, Ying or Someone Else. I’ve enabled the dynamic background settings and now the correct hero images are appearing for our about page (https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=5268) and our why food gardens page (https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=5131). The problem now is with the hero image that appears on our blog index page (https://alternateg1stg.wpengine.com/?page_id=27). That hero image is currently showing the featured image of the most recent blog post which isn’t what I want. I would like the hero image on the blog index page to always remain the same and would like to use the colorful root vegetable image shown here in Fernando’s screenshot https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluWg60L Can you tell me what I need to do to keep the current hero images for the About and Why Food Gardens pages and change the blog index page hero to the root vegetable image?

StaffCustomer SupportHum.. in this case, you need to create a new
block element - page hero
only for blog and archives with a static background image. And exclude blog and archives from the current
block element - page hero

I was wondering if that might be a way to go and appreciate your confirmation. Thanks, as always!
