Help me with re sizing the website's logo

I am finding it difficult to adjust the size of the logo of my site, I wish to have a nice & visible logo on the left hand of my website.
I even tried to messing up with additional CSS but didn't work or maybe I am missing out something.
Hi there,
you're logo image has a huge amount of white space around it.
Edit it in your desktop photo editing app and crop it down to just the logo with a few pixels of white space around it.
Instead of keeping a white background, would you recommend me to upload a transparent background for the logo and try to re size it ?
It shouldn't matter. The logo looks good now? Are you still having issues?
