Hello, can you tell me how to put a header BG-image so the tag and title are centered on the image?

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
The easiest way is to use our Backgrounds addon.
You can set the header background there, and then use our Spacing addon to add top and bottom spacing to the header area to increase the height.
Then go to “Appearance > Customize > Layout” and center the header.
The CSS (if you don’t want the addons) would be something like this:
.site-header { background-image: url(URL TO YOUR IMAGE); }

Hi there,
as far as I am concerned, your theme Generate Press is one of the best things since sliced bread.
Yet, I have everything set up really nice and have no clue how to upload an image at the home page! I have also not been able to get my latest posts appear on the home page as seen in the adverts. So my home page is blank until I can get help from you.
Are social icons only on premium versions?
Speak soon and thanks thanks in advance for your help!

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperAwesome – who doesn’t love sliced bread! 😉
Uploading images to your content is the same as with any other theme: http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/uploading-images/
To show your latest blog posts, you need to set your settings in “Settings > Reading”.
You’ll see on that page you can set the front page as “Your latest posts” or “A static page”.
If you set it to “Your latest posts”, your homepage will show your homepage as a blog.
The social icons are a free plugin of mine you can find here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/lightweight-social-icons/
Let me know if this helps or not.

Thank you for the response. I am having spacing issues above the header and in the content area. The issue is that it keeps changing without me doing anything. I am running this wordpress site on my local but I snapped a couple shots and put them here – http://cboysweb.com/wordpress/weirdspacing.pdf

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHmm, it’s really hard to tell what’s going on by those screenshots.
Are you using a child theme?
Any other plugins installed?

Yes, I am using a child theme. I have removed the import statement from the style sheet.
Activated plugins are Easy Recipe and GP Premium. I did deactivate Easy Recipe to note any changes but none were noted.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperBackground images don’t scale easily. Your best bet is to add your text to your image using Photoshop or something similar, then add the header in the “Header Content” section of the Customizer. This will allow it scale as you resize and be more consistent.
