The header widget I have on my site is too far right, can’t see it.

That’s because it’s using absolute positioning in inline style:
<div class="norm_row sfsi_wDiv" style="width:225px;text-align:left;position:absolute;">

You will need to remove that or contact the plugin author on this.

The plugin you are using to insert the widgets isn’t very well coded.

but now the header widget has tremendous padding. How is that shrunk up?
