Header vs header image

I've been trying to add an image to my header for a while now, and I'm completely lost.
It seems there are two different sections, one for an image and another for the header.
Right now, I have an image that shows on my homepage and a blank header block (my navigation is separating the two). Is there any way to combine these? Or just have the header itself have an image?
Even if I could move the navigation below the image, I'd be ok with that. But it looks awkward, and I can't figure out how to fix it.
Thanks in advance
Hi Nicole,
Not quite sure what you meant. Are you able to provide a link to your site?
Thanks!
Sure

I actually took a screenshot of what I've got and then tweaked it in paint to show what I'm trying to get...and sent it to a friend who uses GP and they're stumped. I could attach a picture of that as well if it'll help.
Can you upload the picture to https://postimage.io/?
You can try adding that image into the before header content hook:

Let me know if this helps.
I think you could also try adding that image as site logo in Customizer > Site Identity and set the header alignment to center.
Either way should work.
Let me know.
Both ways seem to be working! Just shoved the image in, and have to do the centering and all that. But it's what I was going for.
Thank you!
You're welcome :)
