Header is constantly sticky

Hi!

I use GeneratePress with Elementor and I have a transparent header and navigation that works on all pages but the front page where it seems to be sticky even when you haven't scrolled down. I have a background video with Elementor and I can't figure out why it's not transparent.

Do you have any ideas on how to get the header/nav. bar transparent?

Thank you!

Hi Malin,

Can you link us to the site in question? To inspect it and have an idea on why the said issue occurs.

While waiting: Perhaps you're using a Header Element with Site Header setting set to "Merge"? If so, the header on overlay is likely being perceived as sticky. (overlaying header is a built-in effect of setting the Header element to "merge".)

The site isn't up yet and ready to be seen but I'll send you a temporary login to see the site.

Thank you!

Hi there,

that is very odd ... does it only happen when the Top Section of the page has a video background ?

Yes, so it's only on the front page, the rest work as it should.

I notice on the front page the first Elementor Section has -500px top margin - which could be the issue.

Strange, it should be and is 500px top padding not -500px margin. I tried removing the padding but it didn't work.

Oh shoot, where did that come from..? That must be the problem. How on earth do I get hold of that.

I haven't used Elementor in quite some time, but in recall they had a 'Navigation' panel - a bit like Photoshop layers, you should be able to to move that section to some place you can edit it.

Thank you so so much, problem solved!

Thanks for your outstanding support! Hope you'll have a great weekend!

Great to hear that - and glad to be of help.
