header image in free version of generatepress

I have GP, but for the following site I am attempting to create it with just the free version of generatepress.

http://neigc.info

Is there a way to add a header image without reverting to the premium GP and using a page hero?

Also, can I create page hero in the free version, or do I need to use GP?

Thanks
Mark

Hi Mark,

Not sure if I fully understand what you are referring to with "header image".

Can you show me an exmaple?

And GP Premium is required to create a page hero.

Let me know if this helps :)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

The way you see it now, I just put an image widget in the header area, I didn't know that I could put a full width image in as the logo.

I have now replaced the header image widget by just uploading the image as a logo on neigc.info.
Thanks!

One other question in regards to that site that used generatepress basic: Is it possible to force the vertical menu which appears at the bottom of each page to collapse to a hamburger menu in the upper right hand corner, which it seems to do when you use standard horizontal menus?

Thanks

Mark

Are you talking about this menu?

It does become a hamburger in mobile mode? Are you trying to make it to hamburger even on desktop?

If so you can change the mobile break point at customizer > layout > primary navigation > Mobile Menu Breakpoint.

If not could you explain a bit more about it? Thanks!

Hi Ying,

Yes, that is the menu. I have made it so the hamburger menu appears on top now.
(Before I was using a nav menu widget in the sidebar, instead of just changing the location of the primary menu.)

I have submitted the following questions on another ticket:
(1) I would like to decrease the spacing between the menu links, and
(2) change to color of the menu background.

Thanks,

Mark

Your other ticket has just been answered :)

Thanks!

Mark

No problem!
