Mark
Hi,
I’ve been trying all day to implement the header image on posts and on a page with no luck. I’ve disabled all plugins except Gravity Forms, which is a must-use on my site, but have had no luck. All that displays is the text I enter in the Content box.
I’d really appreciate some help here as I plan to have the site o live on Monday.
Thanks.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi Mark,
If you’re using the Page Header addon and want to display a regular image + content, you’ll have to add your own HTML for the image.
You can use the image you have set in your image tab as a background image for the content by checking that checkbox (Use image as background).
Let me know if this makes any sense 🙂

Thanks for the prompt reply Tom. Do you mean I’ll have to add the img src tag? I was just following the videos posted here: selecting an image alreafdy in the media library and then updating and previewing. I thought the image would be automatically scaled and added to the header.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperIf you’re only using an image (no content), then that’s exactly what will happen.
However, if you have content set, it will ignore the image unless it’s set to the background using the appropriate setting.
So, if you’re only adding an image, you can use the image tab and no content – you’ll be good to go.
If you want both, you’ll have to set the image as a background, or add it using a img src tag inside the content itself.
Let me know if you need any more help.

Ok, I deleted the text from the “Content” box and the image displayed.
I noticed that you had added a shortcode for a rotator. Is that built in or a separate plugin being used?
Maybe I should start a new thread but how do I disable the author? Do I have to use a hook to disable the_author
Thanks Tom.

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperThere’s quite a few really well made slider plugins out there – I suggest taking a look at Meta Slider, Master Slider, Slider Revolution and even Soliloquy slider. Almost too many options 🙂
The Blog add-on allows you to hide the author through the Customizer – if you’re not interested in that add-on, I can give you some CSS that will work.

Aah! I’ll use the Blog add-on. I have all the add-ons activated.
