I have my header broken up into three different zones. What I am trying to do is hide the middle zone on Laptops and mobile devices.

Take a look now. It looks like its working but I have a large space now.
Try adding the hiding class with the grid div like this:
<div class="grid-33 header-left hide-on-mobile hide-on-tablet">
