Header elements showing/excluding rules not working based on “Content groups”. This feature is not working on my install. It would be very important to work because I would otherwise need to manually set thousands of pages and it is hard and frustrating. I wonder why this is?
Could anyone help me please?

what are Content Groups ? Are these added by a plugin ? Let me know
May 17, 2020 at 3:37 pm #1289259hallintaasuntojenmyynti-fiHi David, thanks for answering. Good question and actually yes. It seems these “Content Groups” are added by Page Generator Pro plugin. It would be great if it would work since GP Elements are offering them as a sort option and it would solve all my problems 🙂 but unfortunately “Content Groups” as a rule of element seems to fail to do the job. Anyhow on wp-admin page list for example these groups get a dropdown menu box called “Any Group” between Date and Seo Scores fields and I can sort pages with this dropdown menu item.
The thing is that I have thousands of pages and I should be able to decide which page uses which header. I need many headers but only few of the headers really have a lot of pages signed to them. So first I tried to manually sign header 1 to “All pages” and then I continued to exclude all the rest of the pages from header 1 and also mark them to appropriate other header. This turned out to be a big job and while doing it some of the already written rules seemed to “get stuck” meaning that some rows turned blank in between rules lists – I´m not sure what is going on there.

May 18, 2020 at 2:12 am #1289667DavidStaffCustomer SupportCan a ‘group’ be given a taxonomy term ? such as Category: Group Name ?
May 18, 2020 at 3:03 am #1289731hallintaasuntojenmyynti-fiLooks like Page Generator pro supports “Add New Taxonomy Group” functionality but it only gives options for Categories and Keywords as a Taxonomy. These are article Categories and article keywords but I have created pages. Could you perhaps take a look if I provide you with logins to our staging-site? I am a bit lost here 🙂 I could pay for resolving this too.

May 18, 2020 at 4:35 am #1289839DavidStaffCustomer SupportCan you provide me with temporary login so i can see one of these pages ?
You’re URL cannot be seen by anyone but us admins so you can post the temporary login details hereMay 18, 2020 at 9:45 am #1290477hallintaasuntojenmyynti-fiGreat. Thank you very much for helping me. Here are the logins
On the left side menu there is title Page Generator Pro and from there I have set 17 unique Content Groups which each will create unique pages with the help of keywords that are set under Keywords also located under Page Generator Pro title. Content Groups are initially as page templates but later they will include all pages that are created with the help of Content Group Templates.
For your test purposes I created 1 page with Page Generator Pro with Content Group called {Kilpailuta:uppercase_first_character}. Page created is called “Kilpailuta asunnon myynti”. This page can be now searched from the Pages search by searching with Content Group {Kilpailuta:uppercase_first_character}. On GP Elements I have set “All Pages” initially to be attached to Header Element called “Hintavertailun laskeutumissivun – Steppi 1” Anyhow this new page I created should not use this header but header called “Kilpailutuslomake”. I can of course use display rules to first exclude this page and then include it to the appropriate Kilpailutuslomake-header. The problem is I will eventually have hundreds or thousands of pages. So I saw that there is possibility to choose Content group on include/exclude dropdown and tried that but it did not seem to do the job. It would be great if it did.
Page Generator pro have something to do with terms and taxonomies but I just don´t understand it. This tutorial can be found here:

This is a tough one to debug. That exclude option looks like it would apply to the single pages inside those content groups, but it’s tough to tell without knowing exactly how they set it up.
What about setting up regular page categories to help with organizing your display rules?: https://wordpress.org/plugins/add-category-to-pages/
May 18, 2020 at 10:11 pm #1291159hallintaasuntojenmyynti-fiThat is so true but very good solution this pages to categories plugin. I tried this one instead and it seems to be working and is compatible with the newest wp-version https://wordpress.org/plugins/create-and-assign-categories-for-pages/
So this will do it and it will be worth it I think.
Thank you very much for helping me out here 🙂
