Header element makes my site to ''hang''
14 replies · Started by victor on June 20, 2022
Hello,
This has been happening a couple of times and I think I'm now tired. Maybe I could give you access to my wp and see what might be the issue?
This is the case, when I try editing the header element, it takes a lot of time to load and sometimes it times out. It’s frustrating since I have really invested in good hosting. I don’t think that could be the issue..is it because I have excluded many posts on the elements making it hang?

Hi Victor,
To clarify, does the issue exist only with one specific Header Element, or with other Elements as well?
Also, do you have a staging site where we can do some tests?
You may use the private information field to share your credentials: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
Hope to hear from you soon.
It happens to this element...when I try to edit it and add a new inclusion. Yes, I have a staging site

Hi Victor,
Can you kindly add the credentials through the Private Information field as this is a public forum, and it wouldn’t be safe not doing so?: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#private-information
Also, the sent credentials aren't working.
Hope to hear from you soon. :)

Hello, what can I do to stop the freezing? my browser just freezes when I try to edit this element...I'm not using generateblocks. I have tried on chrome and safari...it freezes on all broswers.
Hi there,
you have a Lot of Exclusions in that element. Are you wanting to Exclude ALL Posts from it ?
Not really, those are posts that I don’t want the advert to run on.
That is a LOT of display rules and it can cause issues.
The posts that you DO NOT want to run the advert on, are they in a specific category or have a specific tag?
I can add a specific tag to the posts.
Ok so if you add a Tag to the Posts you do not want to run the advert.
Then in your Display Rules > Exclusions you can use: Post Tag and then select your tag.
Then you can remove all the single posts from your rules.
okay, thanks will do so.
Let us know how it works :)
Solved. Thanks!
Awesome - glad to hear that!
