Having Trouble With Full Width Container Layout
5 replies · Started by Nicholas on February 14, 2022
I'm using the latest version of generatepress & generateblocks pro with the generatepress child theme. Both the page and very first container that I plan to use as a wrapper for the entire page are set to full width. However, all containers are still constrained to the content width.
The customize layout settings are strictly in pixels, no percentages, so I'm assuming that is only applicable to the default content width.
I've been over the docs and other similar support inquiries, but not seeing what the issue is. I could easily resolve this with CSS, but I'm trying to figure out what's causing this issue to avoid future complications with other elements. I even went into elements and created a strict full width rule for all pages as well.
Hi Nicholas,

How did you set the page to be full width?
Any chance you can link us to the site in question?
You can use the private information field.

Let me know :)
The page and block container width for the page "Home" are set to full width. I also created an element called "Page Layout Container" that is set to full width using the rule for all pages. This is my first GP project and I did read through most of the documentation prior, however, I'm not sure what I missed. I'm trying to stick to using GP & GB whenever possible and only adding custom CSS & scripts as needed.

It looks full width to me, am I missing anything?

If you want the text to be full width as well, set the inner GB container to full width too.
Much appreciated, must have been a cache issue in chrome. Thanks!
You are welcome :)
