I noticed that on mobile, with a sub menu.. I have to click once one the name of the menu item (highlight it) and then again to open it. That’s not ideal. I want to be able to just tap, and it expands like 99% of all other mobile menus LOL.
How can this be done?
Thanks so much!
January 6, 2018 at 2:22 pm #464747LeoStaffCustomer SupportHi there,
Have you tried #1 here? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/
It should be default one click and there isn’t an option for it.
Let me know.
January 6, 2018 at 2:57 pm #464763TravisHi
Yes, I have tried all of this.. and the problem is still here.
I’m not sure i’m explaining this clearly enough.. First, I dont think its a “problem” I just think this is how the mobile menu is coded to work. There is no bug, or “error” that is happening here.. so trying to trouble shoot it that way I don’t think is the effective solution.
Whats happening is this..
When your on mobile, and your push the menu button, the drop down comes. Okay, perfect. If I select an item with one tap, it executed the link. Perfect. IF I select an item that is a SUB MENU then, the first tap highlights that menu (which I can see makes sense on the desktop, but not mobile) and THEN I have to tap again to open. (like a double click).
This is not an “error” or issue, it’s the way GP is… and I am looking for a work around.
FWIW, I have not one but TWO sites now with GP, and they both do the same thing. Please advise another solution.
January 6, 2018 at 3:03 pm #464765LeoStaffCustomer SupportDoes it still happen if you select the Click option? https://docs.generatepress.com/article/navigation-dropdown/
January 6, 2018 at 3:30 pm #464768LeoStaffCustomer SupportQuick update on this, this seems to be an iOS issue only. Will let you know when we test more.
I’ve logged as an issue now: https://github.com/tomusborne/generatepress/issues/51
For now can you use one the click options?
January 11, 2018 at 10:11 am #468555TravisWhen I checked the settings, it is set to hover now. It was never set to click.
Any updates on a fix?
January 11, 2018 at 12:47 pm #468693TomLead DeveloperLead DeveloperI have this fixed, would you be willing to test it out before we push out the update?
Download: https://tomusborne.com/dev/temp/generatepress.zip
To update it, either replace the files using FTP, or use a plugin like this: https://en-ca.wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/
Once that plugin is installed and activated, take the above .zip and upload it in “Appearance > Themes > Add New”.
You’ll need to clear your browser cache to see the changes.
Let me know ๐

March 31, 2018 at 6:17 am #537006RichardHi I am having the same problem. I’ve done everything as oer Tom’s suggestion on January 11 but it still isn’t fixed and the menu still needs two clicks on the mobile view.
Might there be another way of sorting this?
Many thanks,
Richard – UK
