[Support request] Having difficulty linking (Impact)

Hi,

Explored workarounds but no joy.
For some reason I can’t place Impact aff links in without the www but when I place www. in aff link it redirects to the “The link you clicked on is malformed”
When I place the link in without the www – it removes the word I’m highlighting to insert the link in.
Have included vid to show.

Yes – should have advised – they precede the link or www.

Does the issue occur on any link you add? For instance, if you add https://www.google.com/, does the issue occur as well?

No it does not – just Impact for now as far as I can tell.

It would be good to take a backup of your site before doing so.

I went thru plugins one by one – no joy but have narrowed it down to just fleshlight Impact links in chrome browser.

For example – https:// fleshlight .sjv .io/3PGPLy – (I have to space it or it disappears here) when used to anchor text makes the intended text disappear but adding www stops this but then flags up a security warning with chrome.
I also have a number of affiliate links which have vanished as these fleshlight links are within a short code button – pls see link in box.
I have advised Impact also and waiting but not sure whose domain this is.

Edit: in fact I just tried to place an aff link here but have to add spaces so you can see it.

good detective work 🙂

The Theme doesn’t interfere with this kind of thing.

One possibility is WP is sanitizing those links as it thinks they are unsafe.
See what Impact have to say as its there links. And they should be able to advise on what the possible issues are.

Hi,

Goddam adblockers were causing the issue – although they are handy.

Here’s another site thread I came across fyi:

It was only fleshlight links Impact formed – not any other merchant links from Impact as far I could tell.
