GZIP Compression causing site speed and size issues

Hi there,
Yesterday I switched my theme from Divi's Extra to GP Premium.
I tested the results on GT Metrix and there is an issue with GZIP Compression. I contacted my host Siteground who investigated and said the GZIP compression settings were all working their end.
My site speed is seriously compromised and page size too.
Can anyone help with this?
