Gutenberg Navigation Block unavailable - "disabled" by GP or GB

Gutenberg "Navigation Block" on fresh installation:

I have heard that it's already a native block of WP 5.8, but cannot find it while searching for it using the blue "+" icon or after tying /nav in a new row.

Does GP or GB disable it? If not, is there a tweak to apply for enabling this block?

Sorry, I know this is GP forum, but since I want to use the navigation block as an GP-Element (creating a header block), I thought you may help me with this …

Thank you in advance and kind regards,
Sascha

Hi there,

GP doesn't disable any WP Core blocks.

The "Navigation Menu" block is actually active as you can see here - https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guPoo8o

But this, by default, isn't usable on contents of pages or posts.

GP elements is technically a custom post type so navigation menu won't show up on it as well.

You can actually test this out. You can try changing to a WordPress default and create any page.

When you try to search for any menu or navigation block, none will appear.

As an alternative, consider the shortcode I've provided here - https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/navigation-menu-in-block/#post-1721411
