Gutenberg Editor Width

Hello,
I am using Gutenberg for building a site with blocks and your theme for the first time. I use one of the templates from the site library and everything seems to work well.
There is one thing I cannot figure out though: the page width of the site is 1200 px but in the Gutenberg editor it is only about 700 px wide, resulting in ⅔ of my screen being white space. That cannot be right can it? Is there an option I forgot to set in the theme?
Thanks a lot
Stephan
Hi there,
the Editor width should match the Front End Container Width minus any space occupied by a sidebar, if one is set to display. Does the page have a sidebar set to display ?
Hi David,
thanks for your fast answer.
No, no sidebar. If there is a sidebar, it is still smaller than the original frontend page.
I tried a few templates with fresh install: "Dev" works fine, the Gutenberg Editor is full width.
Search, Landing, Coach and Read do not work: width is about 700 px wide.
Whilst in the editor what happens if you refresh the page ?
Nothing. Just a refresh showing the same site again.
I am on a Multisite install. May that make some difference?
Do you have a link to a particular post / page where this happening ? If so can you share a link ?
Unfortunately not right now. I will post again when I have a public install.
No problems - let us know.
I found the problem: I tried out Kadence blocks. The moment I activate the plugin, the editor width gets reduced to 750 px.
But I understand your philosophy now to keep blocks simple and use plugins for everything else. Do you have a tip for a good gallery plugin as that is what I wanted out of Kadence?
Edit: To be fair: I found that the Kadence Blocks has an own settings for editor width. Problem solved. A tipp for a good gallery plugin is still appreciated, however. Thank you!
Hi Stephan,
You could give this gallery plugin a try:

Much appreciated!
You are welcome!
Hope it works for you :)
