Guide to Google Fonts for Generate Press

Hi
I would like to understand Google Fonts and the variants in the context of Generate Press.
If I install the GP Premium, on a clean site and select say Google Robot Font for the entire site.
Assuming I am not going to touch any other typography settings and leave eveything default.
How would I know which variants to keep/remove from the given options?
1. Premium Install on a new site
2. Select Google Font = Roboto
3. Assuming NO other settings will be made, how will I know which VARIANTS apply to the GP site
In other words, I dont' want to download all the variants if by default GP is only going to use 1 or 2?
Hi there,
It depends on your content. You'll likely want at least one bold variant, which will be used when you bold text on the site. You may also want to use an italic variant (if it exists).
Then you'll want to choose what weight you want for your regular text. Something light (300), or heavier (500).
So really, you should have a regular: 500
A bold: 700
And maybe an italic
