GPP 2.0 - Post navigation template visibility

Just created a custom post navigation template and it works well. I still think the Display Post Navigation checkbox in the Customizer should also affect the visibility of the post navigation template, otherwise, the user could get confused.

Hi there,

oddly enough we're just discussing this internally.

Logically yes - Customizer options should disable the custom element. Although that may lead to users wondering why their custom post nav isn't displaying....

But what happens if i choose to set specific display rules ( eg. Posts in specific categories ) for a custom post navigation and wanted to remove the theme nav from everywhere else ? Now i got to add some other option to remove the theme nav where i don't want it....

Ah, yes, of course! It's a difficult one. Maybe a notice in the Customizer about custom templates being applied and a switch to possibly disable them and let the Customizer settings applied instead?

We're currently reviewing how we can improve 'workflow' when elements are replacing theme elements. I think some of these functions are going to rely on theme updates that will come after GPP 2.0.

But comments noted and thanks for the feedback.

Ok, thanks, David!

You're welcome = and we do appreciate the feedback it!
