GP update

Hi support,

I installed the GP update today and now have the impression that the update removed my added snippets to the functions.php file?
Is this possible? (I know that it shouldn't be the case ;-))

Hi there,

did you make edits to the GeneratePress theme files ?
Or did you create a child theme and add stuff to the child themes functions.php ?

Hi David,

I added snippets to the functions.php file from Appearance - Theme Editor.
I now understand that I'd better use the Code Snippets plugin, I will get the snippets back from a back-up.
One more question: if I use a theme from the theme library (Premium GP), is that a child-theme? So in that case I can edit the functions.php from Appearance - Theme Editor?

No they are not Child Themes - think of them as a Site you created and you export that site and then import it into a new domain. That is what Site Library is :)
