Hi everyone,

As GPP2 is imminent, I thought I'd have a play around as a new site is about to start.
I have created a CPT for the sites products with 5 or 6 custom fields.
I have been working on the singe post page for this product CPT (archive next!)
I'm using Advanced Custom Field (with Pro) for the fields

I've hit a couple of hurdles & info on what I have used/done so far!
1. I am finding that Page Hero seems to give me the best flexibility ?
2. I'm finding the featured image to be too limited, so I have created a custom field as an image, but I don't see any way to include it in the element layout, so for now I'm using a WYSIWYG field to add it, then I can access it via dynamic content (maybe this is the best way?).
3. Despite trying everything I can think of I cannot get the page full width! (link included!)
I added my products to the blog Post Width element, and it is set to Full Width / 1200px & the 1200px is being respected if I change it to something else!)
4. I have a PDF field for my CPT, but when I include it, it just displays a number! Thoughts ?
(I can probably use a shortcode or PHP to display it)

But really enjoying the experience...
Thanks, Dave

Hi there,

For #1)

I'm not sure what context you're pertaining to. Are you making comparison between Page hero made with the Header element vs. the Page Hero made with Block Element - Page hero?

For #2)

Not sure what you mean. Does the post meta not work on your end? https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuRrLzd

For #3)

Is this for the block element? That setting is set on the Container Block you're using within the block.

For #4)

you'll need a PDF viewer if you want the PDF to be displayed. And yeah you'll need a shortcode that outputs the proper format or do a custom PHP shortcode for it to display how you want it to display.

I'm not exactly sure what your ACF field setting is for that. I'm also not sure if ACF even renders a download link if you set the link to "file". Its best to ask the plugin developer this particular question.

Thanks Elvin, I'll review the feedback.

With the PDF, I don't want to view the pdf on the page, I use a plugin if I need to do that, but I simply want a link to download, but I may consider using a viewer!

I'll get back re the other items

Regards, Dave

ps - In the most recent comments from Tom on the GPP 2 blog post, he said the final version was going to be released early this week - which has past (totally understand things take longer than expected), but I was surprised to see a comment from Ying in another thread saying it was a couple more weeks away ? Do you have any further news ?
