Hi there,

I just did the GP Premium update and now the website looks different. The type size as well as the type of the writing as well has changed. Also the easy Facebook like box doesn't fit into the right sidebar anymore.
How come? What can I do to get back to my original and intended style?

Hi there,

Type size definitely shouldn't have done anything - nothing was changed in that area.

The font type had a major update, but we had 10+ users beta test, and I did about 20 different tests on test servers.

If something isn't as it should be, it should only take a second to go to "Customize > Typography" and adjust, but I am curious as to what exactly changed.

Right sidebar hasn't changed either - do you have a link to your site?

Hi there, thanks for your fast response.

The font type we chose is Lucida Sans Unicode. and it definitely looked different before the update. We haven't changed anything about the font type ourselves. Has this font type changed? Now the Lucida Sans Unicode looks more fragile and smaller.

And there's still the thing about the right bar.
Here ist the link to the website: norbert-rogsch.com

Interesting, that's just a regular web-safe font - it should depend on the font you/all of us have installed on our computers. I see no reason why that would have changed at all.

Can you adjust it in the Typography settings to look like it used to?

The Twitter widget on your site looks good to me? Do you have a screenshot of what you're seeing?

Hi Tom,

I still don't understand that the style of Lucida Sans Unicode has changed? As you can see on our website, the font type doesn't look like Lucida Sans Unicode although that is the font type we chose. And it changed right after I did the update of GP Premium.

The Facebook like box doesn't fit into the right sidebar, not twitter.

I don't know how can send you a screenshot here?

I'm pretty sure that's Lucida Sans Unicode when I compare it to examples: http://www.cssfontstack.com/Lucida-Sans-Unicode

For some reason, I'm not seeing a Facebook like box?

You can take a screenshot and upload it to imgur.com - then post the link here.

We'll figure it out :)

Interesting - here's what I'm seeing:

The font is correct, and the FB widget is inside the container.

What browser are you using? Can you try clearing your cache/cookies?

okay, that is really interesting. ?! as you see it that's the way it is supposed to be. both, the Facebook box and the font type.
I have cleared the cookies and cache.
I'm using safari.
What browser are you using?

That's really weird.?!?

The font works for me in Safari as well, but the Facebook widget does venture outside the container - is this a plugin you're using?

Does any of it work if you use a browser like Chrome or Firefox?

yes, it is a plugin I'm using, called Easy Facebook Like Box.

and I#ve tried it on chrome browser, but that shows the same weird font type and Facebook like box.

okay, it seems I#ve worked out the easy Facebook like box now and fixed that.

still don't know what to do because of the font type...

I'll be offline now for about a week. Maybe it will save itself in the meantime :)
Maybe you have an idea how to fix it, if it has not solved itself by then. :)

thank you Tom!

Super weird.. Make sure you have that font installed on your computer.

In Windows, you can go to Control Panel > Fonts to see all of your installed fonts.

okay, the font type was not installed on my computer. I don't get it, because only a few days ago the website looked like lucida sans unicode, although it was not on my computer.
anyway, i've installed now this font type on my computer and now the website has changed back to the way it used to look like and I intended it to look like.
still super weird. :)

but anyhow, everything works now and is fixed.at least on my computer.

still on my ipad and iphone it looks the not intended way. I don't get it...

addition to my last comment:

so am I thinking right here, that people, who also don't have lucida sans unicode installed on their computer will have a different style?

how can i make sure that everyone sees the same stye / font type?
it's puzzling me...
