GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme

Hi, I'm getting the message 'GP Premium requires GeneratePress to be your active theme'.
My web developer says
This is because we have renamed the theme to 'Sales Motivations' which is what we do as standard practice for additional security. This is just a notice that could be ignored, it just depends on if you're noticing any loss in functionality?

Do I need the theme with the original name or will we be Ok with it renamed?
