StaffCustomer SupportWe are still working on this unfortunately – no timeline has been released either.
We want to make sure it’s 100% done right 🙂

Hints of good/bad cop here. Tom saying ‘very soon’ around 10 days back and here we’re on ‘no timeline’.
Hope it’s the former.

StaffCustomer SupportIt will be soon 🙂
It just required a lot more work and testing then we originally expected. We could have, like other plugins, added a dedicated Accordion block with its own proprietary settings.
But this is not the way we want GenerateBlocks to work.If you look at the GB Query Loop block for example . we added a specific wrapper for the Query Loop, but its contents are built using the core GB blocks ( Container, Buttons, Headlines, Images ).
With Accordions ( and Tabs ) we have built upon a similar logic by creating advanced variant blocks, which again use our core blocks for building but have specific properties for their given purpose.
The advantages of this are not just consistent UX/UI – but it means if we add new features, then all relevant blocks and these variants will benefit without unnecessary code duplicity.
So creating accordions and tabs hasn’t just been creating accordions and tabs, its been a huge update refactoring how GB works which will mean future development of new features become easier and quicker.
I hope this gives some insight to why it takes longer then most people would hope

Thanks David. Not like any of us are about to jump ship, more that I find myself ever closer to just giving in and adding Kadence. I don’t want to, just needs-must, you know. But I appreciate it’s just a few of us, and likely only in limited cases that tabs/accordions are fundamental.
So, reassuring to hear that decisions are being made for long-term vision but, of course, galling that we’ve mode from ‘very soon’ to just ‘soon’. Not got a beta kicking around the place?

I’ve been using GP and GB for several years now across multiple sites and have been very impressed with everything you guys have built. I’ve had no issues and support has been outstanding. While it would be nice to have the accordion feature sooner, I understand the importance of maintaining the quality we’ve come to expect from GP. All that to say – I’d rather wait until the product is ready than use something that’s buggy or unfinished. Keep up the good work y’all.

I’m looking forward to the accordion block! I have a learning platform that uses them a lot for showing examples, and will make the switch to GenerateBlocks on that website when it’s available 🙌

Hi Chetan,
It’s still under development, but it will likely be part of GenerateBlocks Pro in a near future update.

Hello Tom,
I hope you are all well!
As I’m currently building a new website that will have an extensive FAQ section, I ended up here and wanted to ask if there’s anything new on the subject of the GP Accordion Block in the meantime?
Thank you very much for your support.

Thank you.
Do you know why I can’t see the accordion block option although I have installed Version 1.5.0-rc.1 of generateblockspro ? Do I have to open a topic on their forum, or are you able to help me here ?
Thank you
