[Support request] Google Search Question

Hi there. I’ve got two questions.

1. I’m not totally sure how to explain this question well, but when I do a search with just my website name, the first hit is of my contact page. Is that something that is set up by default? Is there any way that I can set my default page to home, so if I do a search of just my website by name, the home page is what is linking instead of my contact page? I hope that makes sense.

2. I would like to change the text that comes up that is linked to my home page, contact page, ect. for each page as it pops up on google. For instance, if I do a google search for my home page, the description text is random text from my home page. I’ve got Yoast, and I wrote out a meta description for my home page, contact page, etc, but that doesn’t show up on google. Again, I hope I’m explaining this well enough as I don’t quite have all the technical terminology to describe my exact problem.

You can see more of what I’m talking about if you do a google search of my site and go to the third page of results. You’ll see my contact page comes up first and the text is text from my actual contact page instead of the meta description I’ve written through Yoast. I’ve put my website name below

Hello Julie,

GeneratePress has no control over that. If you’ve made changes through Yoast in terms of the meta description, you can try requesting Google to recrawl your site. Reference: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/crawling-indexing/ask-google-to-recrawl

It would be good to reach out to Yoast regarding this.
