Google is not showing the last updated date

I followed this tutorial (https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/how-to-show-last-updated-date-in-posts/) to show the last updated date for my blog posts.
But unfortunately, Google is now showing the last updated date on Search. I even republished an old post to see if Google shows the new date. But the result is the same.

Hi there,
As a theme, all we can do is supply the correct markup for Google to follow.
Once that's done, it's up to Google to display the updated date or not. There's not much we can do other than add the schema, unfortunately.
Can you please check if I have implemented it correctly?
