Google Core Web Vitals LCP Issue

Hi,

I'm now getting a message from Google Search Console that my domain has a core web vitals issue for mobile users, which is new.

Specifically, Google Search Console is telling me: LCP issue: longer than 4s (mobile).

It looks like my LCP is my header image or my header logo or both.

How can this problem be corrected? I don't really have the technical background to understand how to fix this problem.

My domain is: myguitarlair.com

Thank You, I really appreciate your Help!
Frank

Hi Frank,

Consider reducing the size of the logo on mobile and preloading it along with the background image used on the header.

Some optimization plugins let you preload specific images. If your site is using one, you can check if it has a preload image feature.:D

Hi Elvin,
Thank You for your reply!

Attempting to act on your advice, is there a way I can load a smaller size logo in GeneratePress for mobile but keep the logo the same size for desktop?

Here are the sizes of my logo and header image for myguitarlair.com
Logo - PNG file, size 334 KB, Dimensions: 500 × 500
Image header - JPG file, size 424 KB, Dimensions: 1920 × 480

Would changing the logo file from png to jpg decrease the LCP time significantly?

Frank

Hi David,

I turned on the Moble Header Option, and then I decided not to use it.

Now that I've turned it back off, my mobile website (using both the Safari and Chrome browser on an iPhone) is still showing the minimized header with the logo but WITHOUT the header image and only intermittently showing the header image on some posts. How can I fix this?

Thanks!
Frank

Can you try disabling WP Rocket's image lazy load? That can cause weird behaviors on page images on load.

Hi Elvin,

I didn't have image lazy load activated in WP Rocket, I doubled checked. I tried disabling video lazy load in WP Rocket and it didn't help.

Anything else I can try?

Thanks!
Frank

Hi Franc,

Can you try clear cache and disable all cache plugins to test?

Let me know :)

Hi Ying,
I already did that. It did not help.
