Global Widget Settings

Global setting
You can find the global setting to set the number of footer widgets in Customize > Layout > Footer.
I have tried setting the global setting to 1 widget but my website still shows 3 footers. I believe this might have happened when I installed the latest version of Generate Press for the following website:
I do not think there is any css or page overrides as indicated in the documentation. Thanks for your help.
