Generatepress, Elementor and custom post type not working

I have the latest versions of wordpress, elementor, generatepress and GP Premium running.

I created a custom post type and activated elementor for it.
When I try to create a new item of the CPT I get a error message after I try to hit the save button:

"Sorry, the content area was not found in your page. You must call the_content function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.""

And a link leads me to this article:
https://docs.elementor.com/article/56-content-area-not-found?utm_source=editor-panel&utm_medium=wp-dash&utm_campaign=learn

Any ideas on this?

Thank you.

Sorry, error appears also with other themes.

Hi Tobias,

yes you cannot edit CPT directly with Elementor. You would need to create an Elementor post template and apply this to your CPT and use their dynamic fields to create the layout. But there are limitations to which CPT or Custom Fields builders you use.

You best off asking their support or checking out their facebook forum for help.
