GeneratePress categories and WP categories

Hello, does GeneratePress offer a way to create its own categories that appear in the sitemap but are in fact separate from the WP categories?
I'm comparing the sitemap /category/ URLs and they don't match up with the listed WP categories.
The sites uses GP Premium, so wondering if the above is a possibility. Thanks!

GP doesn't add categories or any type of Taxonomy to a site - thats WordPress domain or a plugin.
