Hi,
With GP 2.3.0, there is a modal feature, which is great.
Is there a way to use this existing modal as an exit popup for example ?

not yet.
GP 3.3 adds the Modal Search.
And GPP 2.3 allows you to create hook into the Search specific modal.
Future updates of GPP we look to add the a Modal Element so then those kinds of things will be possible.
