Generateblocks and footer - possible?

hi there,

as i played around with the button block - which gives the possibility to add real nice social icons - i was wondering if somehow this can be used outside the "normal" page - e.g. as part of the footer, header, menu - the general elements that show on every page.
In my case footer area would be the choice.

Now GenerateBlocks is a bit more mature, can I follow-up on this? Is it possible to create a footer using GenerateBlocks?
