Generate Blog Post Image size issues

I'm having an issue with the Generate Blog add-on. Under Blog->Post Image, when I set a value in the Post Image Width entry and leave Post Image Height as "Auto" the featured image appears to work fine, and shows proportionally. However, I want it the other way around where Post Image Width is set as "Auto" and height with a value. When I try to set it that way it will set the image full-size or the width of the article.

Right now it's set with a value in Width and Auto in Height and it's working but doesn't quite match the site look and makes the wide images even smaller.

Thanks!

Hi there,

Try setting the width to: 9999

We're using the core WordPress resizer, and they suggest to add that to allow for proportional resizing.

Let me know :)

Thanks for the reply. I gave it a try, where Width is 9999 and Height as 150, and sadly it didn't give the proper result as it made the images very wide and thin and cropped.

Took a look at the code and found the issue - have it fixed for the next version.

If you want to try it out, send me an email to support@generatepress.com and I'll send you the latest version :)

Sent. Thanks for the quick reply and fix!

Tried it leaving the Width set to "Auto" with Height at "150" resulted in full-sized images. Setting the Width to "9999" did the trick this time, though.

Thanks! Working great now!

Yea, 9999 will be required for the auto width to happen.

Glad it's working! :)

Hey Tom.

Which version is this fixed in?

I am having the same issue where setting the height to 300px in Customizing ▸ Blog ▸ Post Image, does nothing to the image in the blog index.

Setting the height to 300px on the Page Header Image works both for the page AND the blog index, which I didn't expect.

Anyway, I am on Version: 1.3.18.

Thanks!

Hi there,

1.3.18 is the theme version - what version of the add-on are you using? You can check by going to the "Plugins" area of your Dashboard - it should say the version along with the name.

Let me know :)

Hey Tom.

My GP Premium version number is 1.2.72.

Ah, try updating to the latest version (1.2.74).

It was fixed in 1.2.73.

Let me know :)
