Generate Blocks Issue
5 replies · Started by Scott on October 5, 2021
Hi GP,
I am building a page using GenerateBlocks where I require 2 columns in the grid. The columns simply display an h3 header and a subsequent image below (this is repeated for 10 images......2 x columns of 5 images/headers).
To be able to control the padding, borders etc, I created a different container for each row/column. This is fine, except, even when the padding, borders etc is set to 0, the h3 and image are quite far apart.
To combat this, I created a single container and duplicated the header and image rows, then repeated them. This method is almost perfect, except for the fact that I cannot control the padding, borders so the image is almost touching the h3 below when viewed on desktop and mobile devices.
I hope that my message makes sense. If it doesn't I can attach a screenshot to better explain what I mean.
Thanks in advance
Best wishes
Scott
Hi Scott,
I'm not exactly sure I get the structure of the content but if I understood what you were trying to do, consider doing this layout.

Which is basically, placing a Grid block inside a Container block, and controlling the padding on the container block.
If this is what you're doing with it already (i believe it is) and the padding isn't working, can you link me to the page in question to check?
Hi Elvin,
Please see the screenshots below to get an idea of the structure I have on desktop and mobile.

Mobile - https://snipboard.io/NtT8Ph.jpg
You will notice that the space between the bottom of the image and the heading beneath is very minimal.
Please see this screenshot in the editor to see how the page has been created.

I hope this helps you to help me :)
If you need anything else, please let me know.
Thanks

Hi there,
This is really a question for the GB support forum... but....
you would be better to add a separate Grid Item container for each of the Titles and Images. Then you can style them individually and control their spacing via padding or horizontal/vertical gaps. Made a quick video to show you a quick method:
Hi David,
Thank you so much for taking the time to create the video for me.
I haven't tried it yet, but that certainly looks like it will solve my issue.
I really appreciate your help.
Thank you again
Best wishes
Scott
You're welcome!
