Hello, brand new here, so pardon me for obvious questions: I’m looking at the documentation/examples, but the figures I see do not correspond to what I see on my end, when following instructions. Specifically, how am I supposed to find/use ‘Generate Blocks’? many videos just talk about it, taking it for granted. I did buy the premium, but don’t see any such thing in my admin page. When trying to follow instructions in the Documentation, my admin page does NOT show the same items as the documentation, so I cannot follow the instruction. Where am I wrong? Where do I find the right documentation for a total newbie?
Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi Leonard,

GenerateBlocks is a free add-on plugin. You can find it in Plugins > Add New: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuQWbOq

After doing so, the functionalities of GB should be available.

With that said, can you confirm if you’ve already added this free lightweight add-on plugin for its functionalities to appear?

If it’s functionalities are not appearing even after adding it, kindly let us know. 🙂

Thank you so much for your prompt response, Fernando.
However, your link is a picture, not a page where I can download this plugin, which does NOT appear in my ‘Plugins’ admin page.
However, I could find it with an online search. After activating it though, nothing changed in the page indicated by the documentation I was reading, which is: ‘Block Element Overview’. I still don’t see the same items as the ones in that document.

    Hi Leonard,

You can download it through Plugins > Add new in your admin dashboard. Here is an image once more showing you were to go in your admin dashboard to download it: https://share.getcloudapp.com/P8u1Xkl2

Alternatively, you may also download it here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/generateblocks/

If you’ve downloaded it to your site, can you confirm in Plugins > Installed Plugins if GenerateBlocks is activated?

Moreover, here’s an overview of the Blocks and how to use them: https://docs.generateblocks.com/collection/blocks/

Hope this helps! Kindly let us know. 🙂

Thanks again. I am not sure why you think that I should have it in, or should be able to download from – my admin dashboard. Unless you mean something I can’t see, it’s never been there and I had to search it online to download it. And yes, It’s installed and activated, and I will check that overview.
However, I was now referring to the documentation ‘Block Element Overview’: I do NOT see in my Element->add block, the same items as in this document. I still am not.
As for your last link, this is all I see on that page:

    Most Popular Articles

    Container Overview
    Grid Overview
    Buttons Overview
    Headline Overview
    Template Library Overview
    Advanced Backgrounds
    Container Links

nothing about blocks. (I wanted to attach a snip of what I see, but can’t find a way to do that)

So, I really don’t know what is going on, I’m sure I am doing something wrong, but have no idea what, if I don’t get what you expect me to get, when I follow your links.

I would just cut to the chase and show you what I’m trying to accomplish with header, top bar, and navigation, so that I can decide whether or not this is the right theme/plugin for me. Maybe it’s for more advanced users, which I am not.

How do I attach a picture? I don’t see any way to do that here, the IMG tag above wants a URL which, of course, I don’t have as I’m not able to do what I want…
    Thanks again!

Sorry for the misunderstanding. The Block Element is part of GeneratePress Premium and not GenerateBlocks.

Here is an article with regards to uploading screenshots: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/using-the-premium-support-forum/#uploading-screenshots

To confirm, do you already have GeneratePress Premium installed? Here is an article if you haven’t: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/installing-gp-premium/

If you have it installed, creating a Block Element should be doable through Appearance > Elements: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuQWPAb

If you’re not seeing this, kindly let us know.

Hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

    Thanks again, Fernando.
I don’t think I’m making myself clear, as you keep sending me to documentation I cannot see or – if I see it – does not look like what I see on my side.
I do NOT see what you think I should be seeing, and I DO have everything installed, theme, premium plugin, and the generate blocks plugin.
I do commend you for answering quickly, but I don’t feel I’m getting my message through.
And I find it very cumbersome having to upload screenshots to a service and then send you the URL.
I find it even more cumbersome to be directed to videos that are just way too small to discern anything in them.
Maybe this product is just not right for me, as I’m not getting anywhere with my project.
Just to give it a last shot, I uploaded the image of what I’m trying to accomplish to the service, top bar, header with logo picture, navigation
let me know if you get it.
    Thank you

Sorry for the back-and-forths. What I understand now is that your are wanting to create a Page Hero through a Block Element, however, you’re not seeing the Block Element as it appears in the video?

Are you seeing something like this?: https://share.getcloudapp.com/L1uRvBE8 instead of something like the Block Element in the videos?: https://share.getcloudapp.com/wbuzL6qk

If so, are you using a classic editor plugin? The Block Element only works as expected through the current default Gutenberg Block WordPress editor.

Otherwise, if you’re not seeing Elements totally, kindly go to Appearance > GeneratePress and activate the Elements module in the module section.

If you are seeing something different, may you take a screenshot of what you’re seeing as well?

Hope to hear from you soon. 🙂

I don’t see any difference in the pages in your two links, they both have the same items.

I don’t know what I want to use, I just want to have a template like the one I sent you the image of. However that can be achieved, I just don’t see how to achieve it, and I don’t find the documentation explaining how.

and I forgot to add: the Element module has been activated all along. But yes, I had the Classic Editor activated, not the Gutenberg, as nowhere did I read that this was necessary. Again, very frustrating,
I do have Gutenberg activated now, but nothing changed in what I’m seeing.
Also, I tried to do the header through the them Customization, but I couldn’t change length, nor the side the menu should appear, no matter what I tried. So, I’m pretty frustrated at this point, as I’m wasting a lot of time accomplishing nothing…

The documentation for the Block Element – Page Hero is here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/block-element-page-hero/

Another way to achieve the Page Hero you’re aiming for can be done through a Header Element: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PYb5OClrRaE

GeneratePress Premium is pretty straight on. It should work with the current default WordPress Block Editor and should be compatible with third party plugins created through the WordPress codex standard.

Do you have the latest GP Premium version? The current version is 2.1.2.

Otherwise, to debug, you can also try #1 here: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/debugging-tips/

With regards to changes made in the customizer, for instance: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guKXlYr, the usual culprit for this is website caching and third party plugins again.

    Hope this clarifies. 🙂
