Hello,
I have installed Generatepress to my site. I wanna know if I need any child theme with it or not? As I have only been using the theme I downloaded from here and using the premium version.
I also noticed some extra CSS codes in the additional CSS that automatically were added. What could be the reason?

having a child theme is not a requirement.
But you can install one if you feel you need one. More info on it here:

If you imported a Site from our Library:
1. They are not a child theme, just simply a pre-saved site for import.
2. Some add some CSS in the Customizer.
