Hi Tom & Team,
I am a human first. Trying to make a living by getting by. Not the best strategy when putting it like this - but I love being able not to depend on money and business decisions.
This personality of mine chose paying 50$/year (a lot for me) because generatepress offered the best feeling. Of developer personality, open limit, no crazy x-y-z upsells and z-y-x promotions - but a focus on the essential value: speed.
After paying the 50$ I learned about the support forum and was more than happy with this purchase and generatepress has been my only and much recommended wordpress theme - because of this. later on came the recuction of unlimited installs to a cap of 500 and another price increase. Reasonable. A cap. But so much head space that I can easily breathe and not worry about it - infact forget about it.
As a side note: I would love the Support Forum to get an upgrade - because it seems easier to create a new ticket than searching for existing ones - and there is so much treasure burried within probably lost.
Then came generateblocks and a amazing free plugin with already premium features! And the outlook that we get a library & maybe dynamic colorschemes. Of course this would be another purchase. And you trained me well. give me give me. I will wait. I will pay. It brings me joy giving you money and receiving a great polished product.
Today - I opened my Mailbox and saw the most anticipated email subject in the last 12 months. "GenerateBlocks Pro is here!" YES!!!! Such joy and happiness - I never would have thought that a marketing email would make me so happy :D thank you!
...then came the pricing. To me - this was a shocker. 1 site - 10 sites - 99 sites up to 100$ a year... uff. this was unexpected. it doesnt even calculate with the limits of generatepress. and seems so different to the pricing stucture/strategy I fell in love with when initially buying generatepress.
I can reason with myself - and I do understand that everything gets more expensive and you need to expand and think ahead, that you will invest it wisely, that your product is definitly woth it - and that I will probably be happy with 10 licenses...
...but now there is an aftertaste - that hasnt been there before. usually I just swallow this aftertaste and live with it. but since my initial experience was so overwhelming - I want to share this with you.
lets see how "this" (my feeling/your strategy) will eventuelly work out. probably you do make an upgrade of the support software, team, bundle pricing of plugins and theme, make a great lifetimedeal I cant resist - whatever you will come up with - I am looking forward to once again be suprised how much joy it is buying your product(s)!
Hi there,
I realize that the price is more than GP, but I think that says more about GP being too cheap vs GB Pro being too expensive.
Over the years, I've learned a lot of lessons from GP, and while I've been able to implement some of them with GP (the 500 site limit, for example, although this is only for new licenses), I've needed to be very careful not to make massive changes, as it's important not to change things too drastically out of fairness for all of our users.
GenerateBlocks Pro is a new beginning of a brand new plugin where I'm able to implement these lessons I've learned. Even at $99/year, it means the plugin only costs $8.25/month, which is a couple of lattes (for example). We believe this is still more than fair for a plugin that brings a lot of value, and premium support which isn't cheap for a company to maintain.
I know that a lot of people were hoping for a similar structure to GP, but this structure will help us avoid a lot of the challenges we've faced over the years with GP, and allow for a strong product moving forward, which benefits us and our users.
I do appreciate the feedback and your support. Thank you! :)
