Gallery display options in Mantle

Hi there, I am using Mantle in WordPress and am having trouble with how the gallery is displaying.

I've got thumbnails on the gallery page and if you click on one it goes to a larger version where you can click to the previous or next image. But it has a display at the top saying when the file was published and its size. At the bottom it has a line saying "both comments and trackbacks are currently closed". This is linking the images within the gallery to the Attachment page.

The only options seem to be to link the images to the media file (which gives a web page opening that I don't want) or link to None which means the images are thumbnails and that's it.

I'm fairly new to this so maybe missing something, but if you can help with how I can just have the clean images open (without any publishing details or the bit about the comments and trackbacks) I'd appreciate it.
