Fully filled in Header

I am trying to get my header to fill in the entire header area between the top bar and the main navigation menu bar. It still has white padding around it. I have tried to utilize the backgrounds feature but when I remove the regular logo the header height shrinks. What I basically want is my logo on an image to fill the entire header area and the logo/image is 1700 x 500

Awesome thanks, I ended up realizing that I did not have the spacing add on activated. Then I saw the ability to change the padding. Thanks again!
