I got hundreds of post without “more” and with hand crafted “excerpts”. I would like to see this excerpt and the read more button as default. Any way of doing some “filtering” here? August 10, 2018 at 6:23 pm #645406 LeoStaff Customer Support Hi there, Does this help? https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/read-more-button-disappears-when-using-manual-excerpts/#post-476456 Let me know π August 11, 2018 at 1:26 am #645545 Alain Aubry No, not at all. It did not change a thing, I am surprised Cecilia says it worked! My blog options are: Content type: Excerpt, Excerpt word count: 55, Read more label: Read more. It is curious because it works, and worked before, with my CPT’s. Thanks August 11, 2018 at 6:09 am #645632 Alain Aubry FOUND! The posts I imported came with “post-format” set to “image”, I globally changed them to “standard”… This did it… I tried to create a “content-image.php” in my child theme, but this did not make it… Thanks! August 11, 2018 at 2:26 pm #645934 LeoStaff Customer Support Not sure what were doing but it’s not good to edit the theme-functions.php as it won’t be saved through updates. August 11, 2018 at 3:34 pm #645963 Alain Aubry No, I am not editing that! It was a reference to the comment on that line… That was the explanation of my problem. Thanks again!
