Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperHi there,
Where are you trying to add widgets? Somewhere other than the header, sidebars and footer?
Or are you trying to show different widgets on the homepage than the other pages?

Thanks for your response, im trying to add a widget area to page called homepage set to be the frontpage in the theme properties.
Im testing converting our website from Joomla to WordPress while retaining the a similar look and feel to the site.
To achieve this I need to place specific content into the homepage
The layout that I’m trying to create:——- Header —— right-sidebar
-Slider – Content — right-sidebar
—— Content —— right-sidebar
2 columns right-sidebar
— Footer widgets — right-sidebar
—— Footer ——- right-sidebarHope this makes sense, I have tried to follow various methods to add widget content to the theme by means of creating a front-page template none have worked for me probably user error, besides this hurdle the theme is brilliant and ticks all the boxes in expectation I have purchased the all add-ons pack

Lead DeveloperLead DeveloperYou may not need to create widget areas to achieve that layout.
To create multiple columns within your content, try this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/lightweight-grid-columns
If you want to display a widget in your content, this plugin might be useful: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-shortcode/

Ok thanks I will give them a try later today, I have been trying to get https://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-sidebars/ but not had a lot of success with that either.
