Front Page - How merge the header image with navigation?

Hi,
on my frontpage only I want to integrate the main navigation into the header image, so that the vertikal image position starts on "zero" pixel.
The "GP Header" option has now changed to "Elements". I'v tried to get this done, but without success.
Which steps and configurations are necessary?

the tutorial shows only how it works (with the GP element option) with posts. In need this to do with my front page (static page), but can't figure out how to to this.
Select the Front Page display rule location.

thanks, only 1 issue left: How can I position the background (header) image to the top, means y position = 0 ? I want the navigation and my site identity placed at the top within the image...
