Freelancer theme image across site

I'm setting up a new website in wp. I chose the Freelancer child theme - mostly because I like the image that goes across the entire site, under the navigation.
When I uploaded the image it's the same as the other themes, with content/sidebar.
How do I get the image to go across the entire site? Under the navigation, and then get the content/sidebar thingee?

Hi there,

Any chance you can link us to the site in question?

You can use the private information field.

Let me know :)

I set it to only content no sidebars. Do you need it set to content/sidebars?

Just to make sure, you want a full-width image below the navigation and above the site title?

Yes. I thought it was part of the theme.

Hi there,

you can use the Header Element:

https://docs.generatepress.com/article/header-element-overview/

If you simply want to display the featured image with no content over it.
Then add this to the header element content.

<!-- Page hero -->

Then you can either choose to display a Custom Background Image or have it display the Featured Image - which will use what image the current page has set.

Also you must give the element some top and bottom padding to create the height required to display the image.

Thank you. That's a lot of info, it'll take me a bit to get through it.
