1. bug regarding excerpt

2. for the latest blog post

see video :)

Hi there,

thanks for testing GPP 2.0 !

1. Are you using a Manual Excerpt on the posts ? If so the excerpt length doesn't apply - it only applies to the auto excerpt.

2. So the way to do this is:

1. Create your Content Template for ALL your Posts - lets title that: Global.
And set Apply to: All Posts.
And set the Display Rules to where you want it applied.

2. Create a second Content Template for your featured post. Set the Apply to: First Post.
Below will appear the Parent Element field - in here select your first template titled Global.

Thanks...

I have removed the Manual Excerpt in the posts, but the Excerpt in the blog is now empty?

Can you edit the Element and make a small change to the Excerpt length and republish. Then clear any caches and recheck the site ?

Did that too - there are no Excerpt text shown.

So when you delete the manual excerpt from the blog-post, it does not show any auto excerpt

Any chance you can provide us temporary admin access to the site so we can take a look?
You can share login details in the Private Information field.

Here you go

Can I close the user again?

Also found a small thing more... image height on featured posts - can't get it working.. see video:

The late night guys tried logging in to the site, and i just tried and the login is not working... Can you resupply the login ?

Hmm strange... I did a copy / paste

Try this

Oh.. I see

I write it manually then...

Did you see the video about the image height?

WordPress itself doesn't have the ability to resize images on the fly like this. The width/height fields will do their best to size the image, but in the end your browser is going to keep the aspect ratio.

If we forced 1200x200 on that image, the image would be super squished and look terrible.

If you'd like to set a cropped image at that size, you'd want to do so using this method: https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-image-sizes/

Then you could choose that as your image size and WordPress will display the actual resized image.

Let me know if you need more info :)

Thanks.. good to know. :)
