Footer Widget Image Resize Issue
4 replies · Started by Patrick on January 16, 2020
Hi there,
I currently have 4 footer widgets on my website, each taking up equal amounts of space. In my rightmost widget (footer widget 4), I have inserted an image module of a PNG image with the dimensions of 244px x 142px.
My issue is, when I resize the image to 50% (122px x 71px), the image does not scale properly, rather it turns into a box and the sides of the image end up getting cut off. Funnily enough, I did manage to fix this at one point (without CSS hacking), but I deleted this footer widget by accident and can't figure out exactly what I did.
A picture of the issue can be found here:

Hi there,
Any chance you can link us to the site in question?

Let me know :)
Hi Leo,
Unfortunately not since its being hosted on an internal server at the moment. Is there anything else I can do?
Finally figured out the issue... Because of the dimensions, it was boxing in the image as a thumbnail due to the default Media settings on Wordpress (Thumbnail 150px x 150px). Set those to 0 and reuploaded the image. Scaling as intended now!
Glad you've figured out :)
