Font issue

Hi,
I want to use an additional font, only for article titles on the Home page. I did so but it affected the site speed score, so I switched back to using a single font style for the site. Is there anything I can do to ensure that an additional font style won't slow down the site's speed?
Also, I intend to use H4 for the titles, will that affect the SEO ranking, in any way? Because most use H1 OR H2 for the blog post titles on the homepage.
I plan to use Karla as a font for article content and Oswald for the article titles [homepage only]Thank you.

Using additional fonts would be loading additional resources so it will definitely slow down the site a bit.
Are you noticing a big difference? It shouldn't be as they are both Google fonts.
