    Hi,
    I am following this:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/adding-icons-to-menu-items/

But also reading the font awesome manual:
    https://fontawesome.com/how-to-use/svg-with-js#additional-styling

    There you can see:

The fa prefix has been deprecated in version 5. The new default is the fas solid style and the fab style for brands.

So, ti seems we do not have the latest FA code because fas does not work.

    Thanks

    Hi there,

We are in the process to upgrading to FontAwesome 5.0 πŸ™‚

It’s a big update so it’s taking some time. FontAwesome hasn’t made it easy either.

For now please use the fa as prefix πŸ™‚

    Thanks for your patience!

No Problem. We will use fa. πŸ™‚
    Thanks!

I was just about to post a ticket with the same issue so good to know the v5 update is on the way.

However, I can’t find any of the old fa resources on fontaweseome’s site. I’ve been able to guess correctly for some but does anyone know the correct HTMl for the following:

    • Youtube (play button style, not name version) icon

    Many thanks!

    Like this one? https://fontawesome.com/icons/youtube?style=brands

Should just be: <i class="fa fa-youtube"></i>. Just have to make sure the prefix is fa instead of fab.

How about for elementor social icons? How to fix it? The icons are not showing.

    Hi there,

GP has removed FontAwesome from the theme for optimization:
    https://docs.generatepress.com/article/font-awesome/

Sounds like your problem directly related to Elementor though so it’s best to check with their support.

Any chance you can open a new topic if you need more assistant on this?

    Thanks!
