Follow up: Colors on horizontal sub menu not obeying the Customiser colors

I'm finding not all of the colors from the submenu Customiser are being displayed... this goes for the Canvas and Secondary menu too.

Can you explain a bit more on what's the expected behavior?
Looking at the context of Tom's code, the only part that shouldn't adhere to the customizer settings should be the background: #fff part which you should manually assign as it is not a dynamic value. (in case you were expecting this to automatically change)
